Another Day, Another Disappointment

Last weekend was another frustrating day in the life of a Liverpool supporter. We can't score for love nor money. I'm quite an 'unbiased' Liverpool fan, if such a thing exists and I'm very critical of Kenny Dalglish and I'm about unleash my rage at both him and the players.. Fair enough.....we were missing Gerrard, Agger and Johnson but all the players at the club need a good dose of reality.

We simply can't buy a goal unless of course the oppostion help us. We missed another penalty (after a dive I must say). I got really annoyed to see the ball taken from Charlie Adam when he clearly wanted to take it. Ok, so the lad has missed two penalties this season but he proved at Blackpool that he can score them consistently so instead of shatterring his confidence why couldn't we just let him have it. Of course I'm probably only annoyed because Kuyt missed it and of course scuffed the rebound. Suarez was tormenting again hitting the post twice in the first half. It's becoming a far too familiar sight. I think it's 21 times this season for us.....depressing statistic. I had given up hope of a win at half time when we went in 1-1. I assumed that we would dominate the rest of the game and would fail to score but I didn't expect us to concede so late.

Yeah I thought Charlie Adam should have taken the penalty but in the end he was the worst player on the pitch throughoutt the whole game. Of course clueless Kenny left him on the pitch for the whole game. Made his first sub with about 2 mins to go in normal time. Kenny is no king when it somes to making subs. If you want to win the game then make moves to change the attack. Could have changed the defence too. Old man Carragher tries to mark best striker in the world and fails miserably. Why did we buy Coates? And Danny Wilson for that matter? Future my ass. Try winning some games at home please Kenny!

Top 4??? No hope!

'I Need'

Wow......I could try and write a long post complimenting the gifted Maverick Sabre but then people could get notions that I was in love with the guy! It's not true I swear! You cannot help but love his music. Go on and give it a listen on youtube and then find another track and another and so on until you agree with me. It's just perfection time after time. I had the pleasure of going to his gig in 'The Village' in Dublin and he did not disappoint. He played old and new stuff and left me wondering Where the hell can I get his mix tapes. The soul stuff is just amazing. Looking forward to a fantastic debut album next year. The guy is younger than me which kills me. There's a long list of tracks I'd recommend so I'm not going to bother. But just admire the track that he wrote at 17 years of age. Last Saturday I realised how unfortunate people are to be stuck at home watching x factor when they could be at a gig, listening to these vocals.

There's More Where That Came From

This month I've listened to Drake's 'Take Care', Florence + the Machine's 'Ceremonials' and Professor Green's 'At Your Inconvenience'. As you might be able to tell from my last post, I found that 'Take Care' was the best of the three. I tried to give each album the same time but it's impossible to do so. Florence really disappointed me. I realise that it's hard for artists to follow up a great debut album with a good second album but this isn't even an attempt at a solid record. It at most has two decent singles and is these are just surrounded by fillers to increase the number of tracks. My brother recently informed me that Professor Green was here in Ireland and his band's gear was stolen. Thankfully they got the stuff back but it was really the first time that I looked into his music. Is he an Eminem wannabe??? I don't think so. I enjoyed the album but I don't think his tracks can stand out unless he get's a female vocalist to do a chorus. Have a listen to some tracks for examples 'Read All About It' and 'Astronaut'. Don't let this put you off getting the album. It's a nice listen.

Time to Get Serious

I think it's about time that i start giving this some attention.
Since my last post I've had lots of time to listen to newly released albums. I had been really looking forward to the release of Drake's sophmore album Take Care. I first heard about Drizzy when 'Best I Ever Had' became a hit in the states. I listened to a few tracks off his mix tape but didn't get into it seriously. To be honest it wasn't until I went to the states last summer that I gave his debut studio album, Thank Me Later, a listen. I was blown away by it. Track after track. This was gold. The guy is something special. I spent most of my trips to work repeatedly listening to 'Fancy', 'Light Up' and my personal favourite 'Shut It Down'. I couldn't leave the album alone and was as excited as a little school girl when I heard that he had plans to release the second album on his birthday in late October and was subsequently disappointed when he had to reschedule the release until this month. It must be said that it was worth the wait. Fantastic album. 'Marvin's Room', 'Headlines' and 'Crew Love'......all just great tracks. Just leave it at that. October's Very Own (OVO)

My First Post

Quite excited to start blogging but really don't know what to expect from this. I enjoy voicing my opinions on social networking sites, especially on twitter, but this may give me exposure to an outside world. I've got a lot of time in my hands these days and I intend to use it wisely. Well by that i really mean being more productive with the time i have. I hope to start blogging about a wide range of subjects. From sports, which will generally include rugby and soccer, to music, film and tv. I have a huge passion for some of these subjects and love to get feedback from my articles and possibly get some constructive crticism which may lead into arguments. Also expect me to finish posts with an album I have been listening to lately. At the moment it' Speech Therapy by Speech Debelle. A nice album. I'd rate it 4.5 stars. I hope it's to your taste.
